Payment and order confirmation pipeline
An n8n pipeline in three stages that starts a payment, checks the callback and only then confirms the order.
Overview
Orders were taken before the money had arrived, so unpaid orders could slip through to fulfilment.
The pipeline splits payment into three webhook workflows, and the order is only completed once the payment callback reports success.
What was delivered
- Payment initiator: builds the payment payload and starts the online payment
- Payment callback: checks whether the payment succeeded before anything else happens
- On success it triggers order confirmation; otherwise it updates the ticket
- Order confirmation: completes the draft order and fetches the final order
- Returns an order summary to whoever started the request

If orders were completed when the customer clicked pay, failed payments would still reach fulfilment. The callback workflow checks the payment result first, and only a successful payment triggers the step that completes the order.
