An n8n AI agent with four tools that look up customers, search products, resolve variants and create draft orders.
Overview
The store wanted customers to ask about products and start an order in the same conversation, without being sent off to a checkout page.
That meant giving an AI agent real tools for the store's data, each one small enough to do a single job safely.
What was delivered
- Get customer details: finds the buyer and returns their record
- Search products: looks up products in the store
- Variant ID lookup: turns a product and option into the exact variant to order
- Create draft order: builds the order for the customer
- Creates the customer record automatically when a new buyer isn't found
- Each tool is its own webhook workflow, so the agent calls them like an API
